OUR PROGRAM

Trinity Christian administers its Mediated Learning (ML) program as part of its regular day-to-day instruction. All our students undergo a Learning Propensity Assessment Device (LPAD) when they first enter our school, from there Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) is applied and mediation becomes a part of their instruction in every class.

Trinity Christian has found universal success using these techniques, even with students who were challenged by cerebral palsy, autism, dysgraphia, Asperger’s and dyslexia.

OUR PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Our Mediated Learning Program is headed by our Special Needs Coordinator, Ms. Christina Schienbein-Duthie.

Christina is a Level II Trainer in Instrumental Enrichment and Mediated Learning; which is the highest ML and FIE Trainer standing available. Christina’s certifications were obtained from the International Centre for the Enhancement of Learning Potential (ICELP) in Jerusalem, Israel. She also attended FIE courses sponsored by the University of Turin, the University of Antwerp, the University of Venice, and the International Renewal Institute and the National Center for the Enrichment of Thinking and Learning in Chicago. As such she is fully qualified to instruct new assessors and operate an FIE training center.

Christina believes success in mediated learning can boost a student’s motivation to learn, and that the motivation to learn is the single greatest factor impacting a student’s achievement.

OUR ASSESSORS

Currently four additional members of Trinity Christian hold certifications as ICELP assessors in Mediated Learning, including our principal Mr. Richard Schienbein. Three of our assessors work as Teaching Assistants and interact with our students in almost every subject.

BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT

Our assessors are able to provide Learning Propensity Assessments to students who are not attending Trinity Christian, and FIE guidance to their parents.

An assessment takes between three to five hours depending on the child. Additional time should be made available for an explanation of the results to the parents or guardians, as well as instruction in some Instrumental Enrichment strategies for their use with the child.

Learning Propensity Assessments can be booked by contacting our office.
