ABOUT US

Trinity Christian School Association operates a nondenominational Christian school in Cold Lake, and administers the WISDOM home education program from our offices in Derwent.

We are a Christian organization, serving the families of all its many diverse faith confessions. We also gladly welcome and serve those of different faiths, or those without.

The school itself works with a wide range of students, many exhibiting various forms of moderate or severe special needs. Trinity Christian advocates a classical education and Mediated Learning.

Our WISDOM program currently supports approximately 3700 homeschoolers in various communities province-wide. WISDOM has certified teacher/facilitators working with parents in communities throughout the province

OUR BELIEFS

Trinity Christian School Association’s beliefs are as follows

Every single child is important to God, and all can be helped to learn and experience success.

Our students have the right to equitable access of a quality Christian basic education to meet their diverse needs.

All students are modifiable and can experience change in their learning potential. Therefore they are responsible to participate fully in their own educational achievement.

Mediated Learning involves every child, including those with severe needs. It is based on intellectually challenging the child in a safe and caring learning environment.

Our programs must contribute to the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional dimensions of the student.

Parents and guardians must be involved in meaningful decisions about their child’s education.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Trinity Christian School Association is to ensure that students have the opportunity to acquire God directed knowledge, skills and attributes. These in turn should enhance their potential to become self-reliant, responsible, caring and contributing members of society.

In keeping with the requirement of Alberta Education, our Safe & Caring Groups Creation Policy can be found here: Safe & Caring Student Groups Creation, under the heading A. Principles.

Related TCSA policy is listed under the section B. School Bylaws & Policy, and section 45.1 of the School Act makes it’s mandated appearance in C. Federal and Provincial Legislation.

The Safe & Caring Groups Policy is applicable to our in-school program and works together with Christian codes of conduct found in our Discipline Policy and our Anti-Bullying Policy

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” – William Butler Yeats
